Job Description
In coordination with the Teacher and Behavior and Related Services Staff, the Special Education Assistant Teacher provides assistance to students in high school classes. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with Classroom Programming: Providing support to teachers in implementing behavior programs and instructional activities.
- Supervising Students: Ensuring student safety during daily activities, including bus duty and off-campus events.
- Maintaining Communication: Recording and reporting behavioral data, and communicating with parents, staff, and external professionals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or Related Field: A degree in education, psychology, sociology, or criminal justice is preferred.
- Experience in Special Needs Schools: Experience working in special needs schools is highly preferred.
