We are seeking an Industrial Electrician to join the team at an innovative, veteran friendly small company specializing in the manufacturing of the only all new industrial diesel electric switching locomotive in North America, the RX500.
Responsibilities:
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems: You will assist the assembly of new locomotives in the shop, and you'll ensure our projects adhere to all codes, standards, and customer specifications, contributing to the safety and reliability of our locomotives.
- Schematic mastery: You'll deftly read and interpret schematics, and electrical drawings, allowing you to bring our locomotives to life with precision and expertise.
- Troubleshooting prowess: Identifying and diagnosing electrical issues is a key part of your role, enabling us to address any challenges/issues our customers face with their locomotives either over the phone or onsite at the customer’s location.
- Safety first: We prioritize the well-being of our team members. You'll work safely and efficiently with the latest tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements:
- 5 years of industrial electrician experience is required (exposure to low voltage AC & DC circuits, 480 VAC 3-phase voltage, variable frequency drives - VFDs and PLCs, motors and generators is highly recommended).
- 2- or 4-year degree (2- year Electrical & Mechanical Technology or a 4-year Electrical / Industrial Engineering) is not required but useful for understanding the electrical theory behind generators, motors, VFDs and programming languages of PLCs.
- 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Previous exposure to diesel mechanics is beneficial but not required.
- Willingness to learn some of the mechanical aspects of our locomotives including gearboxes and diesel engines.

- Valid driver's license: You'll need this to get access to various customer facilities.
- Travel to customer locations will periodically be required. We currently support customers all over the US and in Canada. (Must have a passport or be willing to obtain a passport if you do not currently have one). NOTE: You must submit to periodic background checks and drug screenings per customer requirements to gain access to their facilities to support their locomotive needs.
