Steel Valley Fabricators located in Signal Hill, CA is looking for a Shipping and receiving Coordinator to
join its growing team. The Shipping and receiving Coordinator is a core component of the day-to-day
operations of the Signal Hill Shop Facility for Steel Valley Fabricators. They will assist the Shop Manager
with the organization, inspection, inventory, packaging, documenting, and storage of fabrication
materials and parts. Process shipments both incoming and outgoing. Primarily help ensure that the day-
to-day functions of the Shop run smoothly.
Steel Valley Fabricators, LLC (SVF) is a full-service, custom metal fabrication shop with portable welding
and installation capabilities. We specialize in sheet, plate, structural, and pipe fabrication utilizing
modern welding, bending, shearing, and cutting equipment and procedures in our 10,000 sq. ft.
manufacturing facility located near Signal Hill, CA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Use a forklift for loading and unloading construction equipment and material.
Lead in organizing and maintaining the Shop Yard and Inventory.
Receive and verify the accuracy of incoming shipments.
Perform regular inventory of material and stocked items.
Work with Shop Foremen, Shop Project Managers, (PTS) CP’s and members of the Procurement
Team to understand the shipping and receiving needs of each project being supported by the
shop.
Accurately prepare shipments.
Deliver, when needed, or coordinate deliveries, to regional jobs (either PTS or Outside
Customer) and local vendors with a company truck and trailer. Also, pickup or coordinate the
pickup of materials from Local Vendors as needed.
Compile and maintain the Material Test Report (MTR) Tracking System.
Prepare the final MTR package as needed for each project.
Account for close out packages, NDE paperwork, MTR packages, Bill of Ladings, and take
pictures of shipped items as needed.
Work closely with the SVF and PTS Teams in implementing systems and organizational tools in
conjunction with all of the duties listed above.
Use of all required Personal Protective Equipment while performing the tasks that require it.
Any reasonable activity required by your supervisor.
Requirements
Have great communication and organization skills.
The ability to solve problems and suggest improvements to our systems.
Basic Computer Skills. I.E. Excel, Word, Office, Data Base Operation a plus.
Have excellent attendance and show up to work on time every day.
The willingness to learn.
Be at least 18 years old.
Be able to lift 50 lbs.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Be eligible to work in the United States.
Be willing to authorize background checks.
Have no criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism.
Have a valid driver’s license.
Be willing to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
Be willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.
Ability to weld is a plus.
