Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Small Box Truck Owner to join our team as a FILL IN/AS NEEDED Contractor. This position is perfect for Small Box Truck Owners who currently work off load boards or do hot shots. This is a 1099 position. The Contractor will be responsible for transporting customers auto parts safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong time management skills and strong organizational skills. This route will pick up in Montgomery, meet another driver in Mobile, AL to exchange parts, and then make deliveries in the Gulf Coast area. The route will avg approx. 455 miles per day round trip.
Duties
- Load and unload cargo safely and carefully to ensure there is no damage.
- Ensure the safe handling of products during transit, including heavy lifting as required.
- Communicate effectively with customers to address any concerns.
- Utilize customers app to scan, collect signatures, enter/collect CODs as needed, and take pictures at each delivery.
- Ask customers at each delivery if they have returns and bring back to pickup location the following work day.
Qualifications
- Availability between Monday-Friday between 7a-6p (at least 1 day per week)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, van driver, or courier is preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and best practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with customers.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manage physical demands of the job.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Complete onboarding paperwork, and obtain necessary insurance requirements.
This is a 1099 position.
Pay is direct deposit on Friday, with one week held back.
