The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to improve employee skills and knowledge of process and job duties at Philly’s Best Steak. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to document SOPs and job duties for each role at Philly’s Best in order to create and implement training programs to benefit employee onboarding and retention initiatives.
Reports to: Director of Safety and Development
Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (On-site, with some flexibility in scheduling)
Occasionally, additional hours may be required to complete tasks and/or projects.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Identifies training needs through various methods like surveys, interviews, and discussions with the leadership team.
· Builds training programs for each role and department at Philly’s Best Steak to ensure optimal usage of the LMS.
· Works with supervisors for each department to document SOPs and job training needs, including safety hazards for each, to build into training courses.
· Creates and designs training materials including manuals, online modules, and course content.
· Delivers training sessions, either in-person, or online, using the company’s LMS (Alchemy).
· Works with department leadership to ensure compliance with training programs.
· Assesses the effectiveness of training programs and makes adjustments as needed.
· Works with other departments to ensure effective communication and interaction among employees.
· Builds annual training schedule and ensures compliance with federal or state requirements.
· Supports Director of Safety and Development with ensuring compliance with safety policies and processes, uses Alchemy Coach to document employee behavior on the job.
· Support new employee Onboarding by building and implementing standardized training programs per role/department.
· Administers training courses throughout each month.
· Assists the leadership team with identifying and vetting external training resources.
· Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for compliance/performance tracking.
· Leads the Safety Committee, with oversight from the Director of Safety and Development.
· Ability to support company safety initiatives.
· All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· At least 4 years of proven experience working as a Training and Development Specialist.
· Experience with Alchemy is preferred, but experience with other LMS will be considered.
· Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
· Superior oral & written communication skills.
· Able to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
· Ability to work with deadlines.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
· Ability to climb stairs, stand, and walk for long periods of time for training courses.
· Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer terminal.
