What are the responsibilities and job description for the Philomath High School - Varsity Boys Tennis Head Coach position at PHILOMATH HIGH SCHOOL?
Qualifications:
- Tennis teaching/coaching experience
- Tennis knowledge and playing experience
- Knowledge of athletic events/scheduling
- Understanding of OSAA rules & regulations
- Ability to communicate and work well with high school students
- Ability to work with parents, Booster Club and fundraising events
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- NFHS certified
- Mini bus/van driving clearance and valid driver’s license
- Must complete a fingerprint-based Criminal History Background Check
Duties:
- Teach and coach techniques and skills needed for the Tennis program
- Recruit, evaluate and assign assistant coaches to appropriate program levels
- Teach character development and leadership skills
- Ensure athlete safety, including prevention of bullying, harassment, and hazing
- Coordinate a practice schedule for the entire season
- Assist Tennis teams in making decisions, planning events, and implementing plans
- Coordinate upkeep for Tennis practice and game facilities
- Attend all Tennis competitions in preparation for State competition
- Organize appropriate awards for Sports Awards Night
- Prepare and submit yearly budget and order necessary equipment
- Complete necessary paperwork for inventory, budgeting, records, etc.
- Coordinate a Tennis Camp, supervise and assist Team Camps
- Supervise fund raising activities before and during the school year
- Be a positive role model
Salary:
- Based on experience, FTE and placement on the Licensed Co-Curricular salary schedule.
