What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Engagement Specialist position at Philosophy Care?

Position Overview:

The Employee Engagement Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to support a capable, engaged, and energetic employee community. The incumbent will have primary responsibility for recruiting new staff, facilitating management training, providing coaching and guidance to managers on performance management practices, conducting "stay" and exit interviews and participate in the creation, implementation and sustainability of organizational employee satisfaction initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

Performance Management

  • Provide coaching, counseling, and advice to management related to day to day management of staff for matters outside of progressive discipline and/or complaints/grievances.
  • Create training and development material for management training and facilitate management training.
  • Conduct exit and "stay" interviews and compile data, analyze and share data as appropriate.
  • Track external feedback on the employee experience (i.e. Indeed, Glassdoor).
  • Oversee Performance Appraisal process.
  • Evaluate the current processes related to scope and duties/responsibilities, and recommend changes based on assessment, organizational needs, industry standards and best practices.
  • Create and/or update policies, procedures, and guidelines as needed or requested.

Recruitment

  • Engage with local schools and organizations to arrange and/or participate in recruitment events.
  • Work collaboretively with local schools to find placement for internships and future hires along with post graduation placement. 
  • Work with local organizations to publicize the facilities needs for staff while attending their events in support of the goals of the facility. 
  • Maintain metrics on all events, recruitment efforts, and engagements. 
  • Analyze data and present neceesary information to the Administrator for collaboration in meeting our goals.  

Employee Satisfaction

  • Implement new and enhance existing staff recognition and reward programs.
  • Support efforts to increase Diversity, Equity & Inclusion throughout the organization.
  • Partner with other HR staff and members of other departments as appropriate on Employee Satisfaction events.
  • Engage in employee engagement efforts and retention strategies with particular emphasis on efforts to create a warm, welcoming and empowering environment.

Reporting, Data Maintenance, and Compliance

  • Prepares relevant employee engagement reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends, as well provide support to decision making in specified areas.
  • Ensures compliance with government rules and regulations as it pertains to the scope and duties/responsibilities.
  • Responsible for updating and maintenance of HRIS system and other systems used in the organization as it pertains to scope and duties/responsibilities.

General & Administrative

  • Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional networks.
  • Participates in team meetings and the accomplishment of team goals.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all employee information.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree and at least 5 years of progressive experience in employee relations.
  • Relevant work experience in an organization with a large employee population.
  • Proven success at establishing/creating a positive culture in previous positions
  • Thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures, and knowledge of Federal and State regulations, including EEO laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Collaborative team player, possess a strong customer service orientation, and be a consultative problem solver.
  • Ability to advocate for both staff and management.
  • Highly proactive style of work, with a demonstrated track record of developing innovative approaches and ability to problem solve and set priorities.
  • Experience working with HRIS systems and leading HRIS implementation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information.
  • Ability to communicate and make recommendations supported by reasoning and research.
  • Ability to identify basic problems and procedural irregularities, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. A combination of sitting and standing is required for large portions of the day. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Salary : $60,100 - $76,100
