Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled independent contractor Mobile Phlebotomist to provide phlebotomy services on behalf of Phlebotomy Partners of West Michigan. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection in various settings, such as skilled nursing facilities, home for the aged, memory care, and assisted and independent living ensuring patient comfort and safety. As a Mobile Phlebotomist, you will travel to different locations to provide high-quality phlebotomy services, demonstrating professionalism and compassion while adhering to all safety protocols. Think of this as gig work! You want some extra cash, utilize your skills and let the work find you. Choose when you want to work based on what is available. Wage is per job, minimum job is $30
Duties
- Conduct blood sampling procedures using venipuncture techniques while ensuring patient comfort.
- Maintain aseptic technique throughout the specimen collection process to prevent contamination.
- Handle specimens according to laboratory standards and protocols.
- Document collection details such as specimens collected, time of draw etc.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
- Ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens to designated laboratories.
- Adhere to safety regulations and during all interactions.
Skills
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques and blood sampling methods. Minimum of one year phlebotomy experience, preferably working at nursing homes, home of the aged and/or memory care.
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory practices and specimen collection processing.
- Familiarity with physiology knowledge relevant to phlebotomy.
- Understanding of medical terminology for accurate documentation and communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with diverse patient populations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all procedures.
