SERVICE AREA: Housing & Justice Related Services (HJRS)
PROGRAMS: Forensic Intensive Recovery (FIR)/Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP)
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Bilingual Evaluator conducts behavioral health assessments for forensic participants and interacts with the staff and legal team as needed while speaking fluent Spanish.
ASAM training/certification preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct face-to-face interviews with adults using various assessment tools with flexibility within the Forensic Services department in various settings.
- Apply for funding for each participant’s individual treatment needs to multiple funding sources, if applicable.
- Maintain positive, working relationships with treatment providers.
- Enter accurate data into Forensic Services database systems.
- Adhere to evaluation completion within established protocols.
- Meet or exceed the minimal productivity requirements of 32 evaluations per month.
- Participate in biweekly supervision with your immediate supervisor.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:
- Fluency in Spanish (at least 80% of time will be utilized to complete assessments for Spanish-speaking participants)
- Working knowledge of substance abuse/dependence and mental illness
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Computer word processing skills
- Working knowledge of the DSM-V and ability to assign diagnostic codes
- Working knowledge of the behavioral health provider network in the Philadelphia area\
- Preferred: ASAM certification
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
EXPERIENCE:
- 4 years of experience working with a substance-abusing population
- 1-2 years of experience conducting behavioral health evaluations or assessments
- Experience working with persons diagnosed with mental illness and co-occurring disorders
- Preferred: Experience working with criminal justice participants
SALARY GRADE: 17
