ROLE TYPE: Part-Time (up to 19 hours per week)
JOB OVERVIEW:
The part-time Data Management Assistant will work as part of the Tobacco Control Program’s (TCP) evaluation team. The Assistant’s primary responsibilities include managing the reception of client data from the region's TCP’s tobacco dependence treatment programs and entering it into the Public Health Management Corporation’s Research and Evaluation Group’s SPSS client database and, possibly, additional databases. This work will include cleaning, recoding, and communicating and troubleshooting issues with data and/or submission processes via email and phone with the TCP service provider organizations to ensure accuracy. Technical assistance provided by this role is essential to the evaluation and planning of successful tobacco cessation programs across PA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with organizing and saving client data forms (baselines, treatment surveys, follow-up surveys, and attendance forms) received from service provider organizations through an online data submission system.
- Ensure that service provider organizations and sub-contractor organizations are following correct submission processes and communicate any errors with them.
- Use SPSS syntax to clean and recode client data, following up with service providers as necessary to resolve issues.
- Enter client data into the SPSS client database.
- Assist in analyzing data and creating quarterly service provider reports.
- Communicate with the evaluation team regarding database changes and maintenance.
- Communicate with the evaluation team regarding the accuracy of data received from provider organizations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Must meet one of the following:
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program (strongly preferred)
- Completed bachelor's degree or better
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Preference will be given to applicants with database and/or data cleaning experience.
PAY GRADE: 15
