Description - ExternalJOB SUMMARY

• A Sleep Tech I (Polysomnographic Trainee) develops competency in and performs the basics of polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under direct supervision of a Polysomnographic Technician or a Polysomnographic Technologist. Specifically, the Sleep Tech I will learn to perform standard and complex sleep disorder tests to include : Set up and performance of all night polysomnography on adult and pediatric patients, multiple sleep latency tests, oximetry, and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) studies. Will also learn to analyze data, score polysomnograms, and compile data into a report for Physician review. Must be able to work independently and eventually with little supervision, as majority of work will be performed at night. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of Phoebe. • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.WORKING CONDITIONS
• General environment : Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
• May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
• May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
• May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
• Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

• Non Degree Program One year of post-secondary education or current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree (Required)
• 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related field (Preferred)EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• 6 months of direct patient care experience (Required)CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES
