Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our team. As a key point of contact between customers and the service department, the Service Writer will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless, positive experience for every client. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about the automotive industry and providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist customers, providing a friendly and professional experience.
- Evaluate customer concerns and accurately document vehicle concerns.
- Create detailed service orders, including labor, parts, and costs, and provide accurate estimates.
- Effectively communicate repair/maintenance needs to customers and answer any technical questions.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure proper diagnostics and service recommendations.
- Keep customers updated on the progress of their vehicle repairs.
- Process service invoices, ensuring all details are correct and customers are informed.
- Manage service appointments, scheduling repairs, and coordinating parts availability.
- Maintain a clean and organized service area, ensuring professionalism at all times.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an Automotive Service Writer or in a similar customer-facing role within the automotive industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with parts is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical information to customers.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High level of customer service orientation, with a positive, professional attitude.
- Knowledge of automotive repair processes and industry terminology is beneficial.
- Proficient in or willing to learn computer systems and service writing software.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
