Job Description Job Summary: Assists the Purchasing Manager in purchasing, determining status of purchase order, entry into Enterprise Resource Planning system, filing, receiving of materials, stocking materials and other tasks as may be assigned by the Purchasing Manager
Major Accountabilities:
1. Places orders with suppliers as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
2. Communicates with Suppliers on schedule and other issues on an on-going basis as directed by the Purchasing Manager
3. Obtains quotes from suppliers as directed by the Purchasing Manager
4. Assists in order status determination as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
5. Prepares process sheets and process travelers.
6. Assists in material receiving as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
7. Assists in placing stock in production areas as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
8. Places orders to internal departments such as machining as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
9. Advises Purchasing Manager of any recognized potential supply problems as they occur and recommends solutions.
10. Answers the company phone line as required or assigned.
11. Responsible for use of Quantum ERP system to support assigned work.
12. Assists with stockroom clerk duties as directed by the Purchasing Manager.
13. Performs the regular stockroom clerk duties whenever the stockroom clerk is absent as directed by the Purchasing Manager. See Stockroom Clerk.
14. Assists with year-end inventory including counting, weighing, organizing, dusting, data entry, etc.
15. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
Additional Requirements Minimum Education Required: High School or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment, aerospace preferred.
Minimum Years of Experience Required: One year working in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience is a plus! Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Supplier Contact/Management 6.
