Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Contract Officer to join our Phoenix Data Corporation team. The Contracting Officer will play a pivotal role in managing our contractual relationships with suppliers, vendors, and clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement regulations, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational goals and objectives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and modifications with suppliers, vendors, and clients.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and vendors.
- Evaluate bids and proposals and recommend the most suitable supplier or vendor based on cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with terms, conditions, and specifications.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance on procurement processes.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive contract documentation and records.
- Resolve contract disputes and claims in a timely and efficient manner.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to procurement and contracting.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Law, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager) is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Contracting Officer, Contract Specialist, or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract law, and contract management principles.
- Knowledge of federal regulations on contracts is helpful.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex proposals and contracts.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
