Overview
PDO is an award-winning interior architecture and design firm with a full-time opportunity in our Scottsdale office for an energetic, driven and creative Design Project Manager. This individual should have excellent AutoCad and Sketch Up skills and 6-8 years in the commercial interior design sector. In this position, you will collaborate with and be an integral part of the interior design team, supporting both development of interior design efforts and implementation of that vision.
Responsibilities
§ Project Management of multiple major accounts (minimum of 15 at one time) and the respective projects within these accounts, which can be in multiple phases at any given time. From start to finish involved in the success of the project; main point of contact for all correspondence; leading a team that responds; participate in the overall team management and have awareness of ALL projects on the team.
§ Programming, Space Planning (all sizes), Pricing Plans and Construction Administration Lead for your major accounts.
§ Schematic Design, Design Development and CD Production Lead for your major accounts. Lead the team that will help produce this phase of design.
§ Overseeing construction documents and engineering drawings for projects that you lead. Ensuring quality control, and PDO standards. Take the initiative to get involved. Ensure deadlines are met. Pinch hit to meet a deadline. Ensuring redlines are coordinated with appropriate consultants etc.
§ Working with other Project Managers to schedule workload and delegate tasks for the best profitability, meeting deadlines and client satisfaction. Pinch hitting for others if/when needed.
§ Develop new leads and new business. Respond to RFP’s from start to finish with minimal Principal supervision.
§ Perform area calculations, leasing documents, demising plans and other up front general support for building owners on your major accounts.
§ Create, participate, contribute, and lead marketing presentations as needed. Be a significant contributor.
§ Have an understanding of overall profitability i.e. time spent vs. fees proposed. Able to propose additional fees where appropriate to support the project. Has an awareness of when approaching overrunning on fees. Follows up on add services and gets that approved before doing the work.
§ Participate in developing the culture of PDO.
§ Helps support admin team in billing / collections. Know when to hold back on work due to client not paying. Adjust workflow accordingly.
§ Responsible for significant contribution to concept development; bringing new materials / ideas to the table, stretching the design.
§ Managing client expectations with consistency. Meeting deadlines, getting repeat work if applicable; keeping clients happy.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will have:
· Excellent AutoCad and Sketch Up Skills (and/or Revit)
· Excellent presentation, communication and follow through skills
· Excellent problem-solving abilities
· Ability to work within deadlines in a very fast paced, multi-faceted environment
· Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited Interior Design or Architecture program required
· 6-8 years of architectural interiors experience in a corporate workplace
· Experience with space planning, design detailing, finish and furniture selections, construction documentation
· Technical skills including 3D visualization and knowledge of modeling programs a
· NCIDQ certification a
· LEED and WELL certification a
· Revit skills a
· Ability to multi-task
· Ability to work well in a team setting with other Project Managers
· Exhibits a passion for design and innovation and thought leadership regarding workplace strategy
Salary : $75,000 - $78,000
