Job purpose
The Quality Control Laboratory Technician will perform daily analysis of incoming raw materials and fragrance compounds.
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests.
- Analyze test data for a variety of purposes.
- Operate densitometer, refractometer
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Update Laboratory Files.
- Thorough and accurate documentation of testing results.
- File daily paperwork from sample analyses.
- Enter sample results into lab spreadsheets.
- Enter sample results into the company computer system.
- Maintain the sample library.
- Purge samples at the end of the year.
- Respond to customer requests regarding Regulatory paperwork.
- Assist in other areas of the lab as necessary.
Education & Qualifications
- AS or BS in Chemistry or Biology.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Procedures and SOPs.
- Organizational skills required.
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of quality concepts is strongly preferred.
- Strong documentation and organization skills.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Professional written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literate in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook.
Working conditions
- Typical QC laboratory.
- Protective equipment required: hair net, beard cover (as needed), face mask (as needed), gloves, laboratory coat, safety glasses, hearing protection (as needed).
Physical requirements
- While performing job duties, the employee is occasionally required to stand (for extended periods), stoop, bend, walk, and use hands to handle objects, tools, and controls. The employee will also be required to reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee will be required to handle chemicals and solvents as required during job execution. Employees may be required to move or lift objects to 25 lbs.
Salary : $19 - $25
