What are the responsibilities and job description for the Incoming Quality Inspector position at Phoenix Formulations?

Work Schedule: 2nd Shift/Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm-2:00am (occasional overtime on Fridays may be required)
Position Summary: You will need to understand and perform the following: Conduct accurate and timely inspection and sampling of all incoming raw materials and packaging components to ensure all products and materials meet quality specifications.
On a typical day, you will:
- Ensure that all incoming raw materials, packaging components and returned goods are received accurately, safely and efficiently.
- Conduct accurate and timely inspection and sampling of all incoming raw materials and packaging components to ensure they quality specifications.
- Responsible for inspection, sampling, supporting releases, releasing packaging components, and other activities to support the QA/QC and operations departments.
- Sample all incoming raw materials and packaging components for testing, utilizing sterile techniques.
- Verify the Certificates of Analysis, Raw Material Specification, product, and quantity received.
- Communicate and work directly with Quality management, Quality Assurance Laboratories, and Operations departments to ensure efficiency.
- Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice guidelines.
- Oversee all returns and adhere by the returns procedure.
- Record quality, operational and production data on specified forms.
- Provide information or indication of problems to Management or Quality Assurance.
- Reports to work regularly and on time.
- Perform duties safely and to report unsafe conditions or actions.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to become a key player of a high-performance team.
Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good attendance and punctuality are important
- Able to be on your feet 10 hours per day
- Have basic math, reading and writing skills
- Able to lift heavy loads, up to 50 lbs.
- Skilled in monitoring, analyzing, critical thinking and active listening
- Demonstrate attention to detail, orientation to quality, problem sensitivity, problem solving, and ability to take initiation
