For a Maintenance Technician in our Aluminum Department for the day shift of 6am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday

Day to Day Summary:
The Furnace Technician is a critical role in our operation. There are four primary outcome based rolls and responsibilities (OBRs) for this position:
- 1. Optimize Equipment Performance: Collaborate with teams to enhance processing, tooling, handling and equipment efficiency. Ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- 2. Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols, conducting regular safety inspections, and ensuring all operations comply with company policies and legislative requirements.
- 3. Accurate and Timely Task Execution: Complete maintenance orders accurately and promptly, aligning with production schedules to avoid delays and ensure smooth operations.
- 4. Tool and Equipment Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, performing regular checks and maintenance activities to prevent equipment failures and extend equipment lifespan.

Essential Job Functions
- Daily Huddles Participation: Engage in daily huddles to ensure effective communication and coordination within the team.
- Communication and Coordination: Collaborate and communicate with team members to complete maintenance orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring they are closed out to meet production schedules.
- Perform Maintenance Activities: Conduct various maintenance tasks, including electrical, mechanical pipe fitting/plumbing, controls and PLC.
- Preventative Maintenance Program: Develop and execute a preventative maintenance program, performing activities on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual basis.
- Inventory and Spare Parts Management: Manage spare parts and inventory for the Business Unit or area to ensure availability and minimize downtime.
- Quality: Ensure specific quality requirements are met.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and completing various safety inspection forms (daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual)
- Problem-Solving: Provide solutions to challenges that arise during maintenance activities.
- Continuous Improvement: Strive for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and overall plant operations.
- Cooperation: Communicate and cooperate with management, maintenance teams and Business Units to ensure overall priorities are met.
- Support: Act as an additional supporting resource to other departments as needed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate daily and weekly timekeeping and attendance records to ensure proper payment.
- Project Participation: Actively participate in plant projects and goals, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have experience working in an industrial setting with machinery.
- Ability to operate computers or smart devices (iPad).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret various instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Visual and hearing ability to handle job-specific tasks and safety requirements.

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week. We are looking for a Furnace Maintenance Technician in the Aluminum Department.
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the safe operation and repair of equipment. The technician is required to follow written order instructions and maintain a high level of quality. The Maintenance Tech will exhibit ownership of the department and quality of work as well as effectively communicate across departments and with management. Must be able to function as an independent worker and self-starter.
The ability to utilize computers and read line charts is essential. Will report to Business Unit Manager.
