Assistant Project Manager

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
- Assists the Assistant Project Manager in overseeing the overall success and operation of contract(s)/project(s), with planning, execution and supervision of employees
- Responsible for the oversight of any government furnished equipment (GFE) as well as contractor furnished equipment (CFE), including daily inspection equipment is in safe operating condition
- Must be able to make independent decisions in order to respond to the performance work statement/statement of work and understand when to seek support from next level management
- Manage proper inventory and use of supplies required for the successful operation.
- Inspection and correction (if needed) of all work to be performed according to the contract requirements.
- Ensure personal protective equipment is worn as required
- Notification to supervisor any and all customer complaints and the resolution thereof.
- Assist in all personnel decisions related to the successful operation of the project, including hiring new employees and/or addressing performance and/or attendance issues as needed
- Provide direction, training and coaching for personnel supervised.
- Comply with all Phoenix personnel policies and procedures
- Orient new employees, including explaining their duties, taking them on a familiarization tour, and assigning them worksheets for reference
- Indoctrinate employees in procedures for reporting and responding to fires, hazardous conditions, and items requiring immediate repair
- Ensure that personnel are trained to perform work in accordance with safe and up-to-date cleaning procedures and methods
- Make work assignments for employees, and follow up to ensure work is being performed properly
- Schedule periodic floor work with floor crew and building custodians to ensure compliance with the performance work statement (PWS)
- Periodically inspect areas to insure proper quality cleaning is being accomplished and that needed supplies are properly labeled and neatly stocked
- Report all operational problems beyond your capability to remedy to the project management
- Make the first response to customer complaints and document actions to include follow up to ensure problems have been taken care of to the customer’s satisfaction.
- Report all employee on-the-job accidents to project management promptly, and complete the incident report and first report of injury forms so that the proper notification can be made to the Director, Human Resources
- Prevent abuse of equipment and facilities in cleaning operations by instructing employees in and promoting adherence to company rules and regulations
- Periodically inspect assigned equipment, and report broken, unsafe, or faulty equipment to the project management
- Ensure cleaning discrepancies are cleared in a timely manner
- Act as initial approval authority for assigned employee requests for leave and communicate with project management.
Travel may be required.
