JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
Perform quality control inspections and maintain a safe work environment. Tag and relay quality issue findings to lead worker. Maintained quality control records and provided reports to a supervisor. Read blueprints, measure products with rulers and calipers, and define quality needs. Examine and inspect packaging materials. Place products or materials into containers and seal. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products. Verify inventory receipts, perform cycle counts, year-end counts, and WIP inventories as needed.

- 2-4 years’ quality control experience in a manufacturing environment with government contracts preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer operation is required
- Working knowledge of math and statistics (calculations of sample sizes)
- Additional Preferred Qualifications: Certification as a Forklift Operator or willingness to be certified
- Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating agency vehicle, have good driving record, valid Alabama driver’s license, and/or required level of personal auto insurance
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check per company requirements
- Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality
- Adequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speech
- Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to be trained to become certified in forklift operations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations
- Perform in-process and final quality control inspections
- Inspect items for completion according to a standardized set of specifications
- Make frequent decisions on a repetitive basis about the quality and quantity of items utilizing established QC specifications
- Maintain quality control records and turn them in to the supervisor daily
- Tag and relay/discuss inspection findings with the Lead worker if a quality issue occurs
- Verify that all inventory receipts are accurate
- Read blueprints and define quality needs for in-process items and final inspection items
- Measure products using rulers and calipers to verify that measurements are accurate
- Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and notifying the supervisor if repairs/adjustments are needed
- Place products or materials into containers and seal
- Mark and label containers, container tags, or products
- Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met
- Perform cycle counts
- Perform year-end counts and WIP inventories
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Receive training to become forklift certified, and operate forklift as needed.
- Adequate hearing is required for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems
- Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and situations
- Ability to move safely about the work area
- Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas
- Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures
