Position Overview
The Cutter Operator plays a vital role in the production process by ensuring jobs are completed to precise specifications while adhering to company quality standards and procedures. This position requires effective coordination of workload schedules to meet customer deadlines and maximize productivity. The Cutter Operator is also responsible for performing routine maintenance on equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently for optimal output.

Responsibilities
Bindery Operations
- Operate cutter and bindery equipment in alignment with established operating procedures.
- Manage bindery equipment to produce fully customized jobs as outlined on work orders.
- Perform all operational tasks specified on the job ticket with accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare and present samples of completed documents for supervisor approval.
- Adhere to all safety standards and equipment usage protocols.
- Utilize cutter and bindery equipment to ensure the timely completion of work orders.
- Assist with job packaging and final preparations as needed.
- Consistently meet or exceed production schedules and deadlines.
- Troubleshoot and solve production-related challenges promptly to ensure seamless operations.
Equipment and Supplies
- Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas, following outlined maintenance procedures.
- Perform all troubleshooting procedures for bindery equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
- Monitor, manage, and maintain an adequate inventory of supplies required for production.
- Report equipment issues to the supervisor and initiate service calls when necessary.
Background and Qualifications
- Prior experience in a production or bindery environment is preferred but not required; on-the-job training may be provided for qualified candidates.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and concise interaction with team members and supervisors.
- Good mathematical skills, essential for measurements, calculations, and production accuracy.
- Solid understanding of bindery processes, including equipment operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- 8-hour shifts, day shift
- Five days a week – Monday-Friday
- Overtime and weekends as needed
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Location
- In-person at our Anderson, Indiana location.
Working Conditions
- Frequent lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Periodic overtime may be required to meet production demands.
- Fast-paced setting with frequent changes in schedules and priorities, often requiring short-notice adjustments.
- Moderate to loud noise levels typical of a production environment.
- Requires the ability to adapt quickly to changing tasks and maintain focus in a dynamic and time-sensitive workspace.
