What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Phoenix Logistics and Cold Storage?
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for performing a variety of routine shipping, receiving, production and housekeeping tasks. Shipping tasks include order selection/picking, packaging, and shipment of orders. Receiving tasks include loading and unloading truck shipments, stocking, and rotating the warehouse shelves. Production tasks include material handling, machine operation, labeling and packaging of products. This position reports directly to the Warehouse and Transportation Supervisor/Manager and/or the Night Warehouse Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High School Diploma/GED.
2. Good communication skills, both oral and written.
3. Good organization skills – prioritize work assignments and manage work time.
4. Basic skills in use of computers and software programs.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for selecting orders using the RF gun provided at the beginning of each shift.
2. Select or pull orders accurately using PID # in a timely manner.
3. Ensure each pallet is tagged visibly with the order number, location and ship date.
4. When receiving inbounds make sure the order is received with all of the correct paperwork.
5. Record temperatures of all inbound product/freight upon breaking the seal – if the temp is out of range notify a lead immediately.
6. Prepare orders for shipments with the pick ticket and customer requirements.
7. Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock.
8. Package and ship products in accordance with guidelines.
9. Organize pick tickets and cross check against End of Day reports.
10. Notify supervisor of any discrepancies or shortages.
11. Receive and unload incoming product and compare information to packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipments received.
12. Responsible for accurately receiving, reporting, and distributing or storing items.
13. Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects.
14. Operate dolly, pallet jack, forklift and or sit to stand lift in loading and unloading materials.
15. Follow company safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.
16. Organize work orders and verify they are correct with the item being labeled.
