Role Description

This role could either be a full-time job or a freelance / contract role. We are willing to consider both. While this can be a hybrid roll it does REQUIRE the individual to be able to be ONSITE in Brooklyn New York. Though there will be opportunities which will allow for work from home, most of the projects we have require that the content / footage not leave our internal servers for confidentiality, privacy, and/or rights purposes.

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, organized, and a creative individual who welcomes the challenges of working in a close-knit group, paired with motion designers and producers.

Additionally, we are looking for creative storytellers who understand the language of marketers. A lot of our projects are B2B executions and require an understanding of how a business sells to another business.

Responsibilities

• Engage and inspire with an infectious passion for creating great content through a blend of technical expertise and creative flair.
• Work independently and with peers to support and create compelling stories and best-in-class media content that meets global client goals and project objectives.
• Be highly efficient in post-production using Adobe Creative Suite including video editing, motion graphics, and audio mixing and sweetening.
• Ability to work with urgency when necessary to react to constantly changing market conditions and evolving business needs.

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree or trade school degree in video editing and/or production, motion graphics, communications, and/or related field or equivalent related work experience.
• 3 years’ experience in video editing roles

Skills And Abilities

• A portfolio sizzle reel showcasing your work. Lead with your best stuff. The reel should feature multiple editing styles, and use of motion graphics. We only review links from Vimeo or YouTube. Media files will not be accepted. Please share a specific link to your demo reel. Do not submit a general landing page website.
• A critical thinker able to observe, analyze, infer conclusion, communicate, and solve problems faced in the editing and post-production process.
• Strong communicator with capacity to create simple and clear stories from complex ideas.
• Exceptional attention to detail including spelling, grammar, and nuances in editing, graphics, animation, and design.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere, After Effects, and Media Encoder.
• Familiarity with color grading, LUTs and DaVinici a plus.
• Aspiration for self-learning, keeping abreast of latest techniques in hardware, production equipment, and apps related to design and media production. A willingness to consistently improve skills through professional development.
• Deep understanding of fundamental visual motion and design disciplines including typography, iconography, audio, composition, color, and layout.
• Strong sense of design that combines intuition with education and experience. Able to explain and defend ideas behind your concept and execution.
• A self-starter with ability to be flexible when needed, to take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
• Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge.
• Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department / team projects.
• A positive customer-service attitude and a willingness to serve our in-house clients.

Compensation for this role will depend on style of employment, full-time vs freelance and will also take into account level of expertise.
