ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Parks and Recreation Department provides residents and visitors with more than 41,000 acres of desert parks and mountain preserve land with more than 200 miles of trails; 187 parks; 33 community and recreation centers; eight golf courses; 29 pools; and classes, programs, and sports leagues. The Parks and Recreation Department also develops and maintains new parks, park amenities and facilities with funding from a variety of sources.
The Parks Supervisor, Specialized Maintenance position directs and prioritizes the work of supervisory level staff who provide care and maintenance of many parks, special facilities, aquatics facilities, community centers, sports fields, turf management, and public grounds and Parks Department and City facilities, typically for various Parks and Recreation Department operating divisions. The position provides technical assistance and coordinates with other divisions and department personnel regarding major facility maintenance projects and recreation activities.
The Park Supervisor participates in the developing and managing of budgets, capital improvement projects, equipment procurement, ensures compliance with multiple agency regulations governing land, water, and air issues, and conducts inspection and evaluation of work performed. Duties include labor management relations, including coordination with unions and upholding regulations under negotiated memoranda of understanding. The position also successfully resolves citizen concerns and issues. May be required to attend community meetings. Frequently interacts with various city departments and external agencies.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the department; excellent oral, written, presentation and listening skills will be essential.
- Proficient analytical skills and the ability to effectively use data to make decisions and relay information are essential.
- Strong computer / administrative skills.
SALARY
Pay Range : $71,240.00 - $110,510.4 annually.
Hiring Range : $71,240.80 - $95,451.20 annually.
