Seeking a full-time Transportation Manager to assist distribution supervisors in management of Company's trucking fleet that performs direct store delivery 365 days per year.
- 2-3 years experience in the commercial trucking distribution industry and with direct store delivery is required.
- Experience driving a Class A truck is preferred, as well as, managing a fleet of over 20 Class A trucks.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate proficiency in distribution logistics, professionalism, dependability, punctuality and self-sufficiency.
This is not a warehouse job nor does it involve merchandising. This position ensures DOT compliance, drivers' hours of service compliance, delivery route analysis and efficiency, creating load sheets, record keeping, and vendor management. The candidate will be expected to supervise over 30 Class A truck drivers ensuring that they do their delivery routes in a safe, professional, timely and efficient manner. The candidate is responsible for directly managing a fleet of over 20 Class A trucks. There is no forklift operations, no merchandising, no rotating stock, and no ordering inventory involved. The position is strictly managing a truck fleet that does direct store delivery.
