What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Laborer position at Phoenix Services LLC?
Toledo area processor, seller, and recycler of scrap metals is seeking a Yard Laborer for 1st shift! This well-established business started in 1904 and prides themselves in being a leader in the industry!
Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, weekends and overtime as needed
Job Duties:
- Ensure safety standards are followed, including the use of required PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Load and unload materials from storage, production areas, docks, and delivery vehicles using mobile equipment or manually
- Sort recycled materials/metals to separate out high-grade metals. Remove any non-conforming metals
- Classify scrap including the grade, type of material and any undesirable elements within the material
- Perform cleaning duties for plant equipment and general housekeeping
Qualified candidates will have a strong attention to detail to maintain precise records, have good math skills, and the ability to professionally interact with customers. Must also be able to climb ladders and/or steps, lift up to 50 lbs., and be comfortable working in a setting exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations and extreme weather conditions.
