Basic Job Duties:
Managing Supplier Relationships:
Evaluating and Managing supplier performance related to quality, delivery and cost.
Managing blanket pricing and service agreements with suppliers
Resolving problems related to supplier delivery and quality
Managing supplier documentation related to customer and AS9100 requirements
Meeting with suppliers to understand and validate capabilities
Implementing sourcing strategy to reduce pricing and lead-time variation
Managing Purchasing Department:
Supporting daily needs of Sales, Manufacturing and Pre-Production groups
Working with manufacturing and Pre-Production to resolve all material related issues
Determining pricing and availability of material and services for quoting new jobs
Procuring metals and consumables as related to a Metal Stamping Environment
Developing and implementing systems for managing raw material inventory levels
Ensuring material certifications meet customer requirements
Managing allocation of material to work orders
Responsible for material traceability, accuracy and inventory levels
Working with Manufacturing and Quality to resolve all material related problems
Additional Responsibilities
Accomplishes human resource objective by training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling and
disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising and reviewing
job contributions and enforcing company polices and procedures
Ensuing work instructions are accurate and followed
Required Education, Experience & Skills
Excellent mathematical, communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
Sense of urgency for completing tasks and projects
Knowledge of various metals (alloys), relevant specs, and standard gauges
Knowledge of metal stamping and machining processes
Ability to read and interpret certs, specifications, customer requirements and blueprints
Ability to work with multiple departments and team problem solve to arrive at a solution that meet all needs
Understanding of AS9100 and IDO 9001 requirements
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Previous experience with ERP software
Supervisory/Management Experience
High School Diploma Required
Logistics and Inventory Management Certifications a plus
Troubleshoot problems and recommend or take corrective action
Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
Good time management and planning skills
