Position Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled Data & Analytics Engineer with expertise in data engineering, ETL processes, and enterprise application integration. This role will focus on developing and managing scalable data pipelines, optimizing system integrations, and improving data workflows to enhance business intelligence and efficiency. The engineer will collaborate closely with analytics and business teams to support data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have experience with reporting and analytics tools, allowing them to generate meaningful insights and align solutions with business needs. A strong technical background, the ability to engage with various stakeholders, and a passion for building scalable data solutions are key attributes for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & ETL/ELT Development

• Design, implement, and refine data pipelines for ETL/ELT processes to ensure smooth data movement and transformation.
• Build reusable data models and workflows using SQL, Python, and Databricks.
• Keep up with modern data engineering methodologies and introduce innovative solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Databricks and enterprise systems, including ERP applications.

Application Integration & ERP Optimization

• Lead the integration of enterprise applications, including ERP systems such as Oracle, Deltek, and Vista Viewpoint.
• Use middleware tools, including Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), to enable seamless automation and data flow between systems.
• Work with APIs and develop scalable code for system interactions.
• Ensure efficient integrations between Databricks and enterprise applications to support operational needs.

Data Governance & Optimization

• Maintain data accuracy, security, and reliability through strong governance practices.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes in Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Enhance ERP data processing within Databricks to improve analytics and reporting.

Business Analysis & Collaboration

• Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into technical solutions.
• Analyze data to generate actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
• Utilize advanced Excel and Power BI for reporting, data modeling, and visualization.
• Document business requirements, data workflows, and integration processes to ensure transparency and scalability.

Problem-Solving & Continuous Learning

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to data engineering and application integration.
• Stay current with industry trends in data engineering, ETL/ELT, and system integrations.
• Foster a growth mindset, continuously improving skills through experimentation, research, and collaboration.
• Identify and resolve complex data challenges with creative problem-solving approaches.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, and system integration.
• Strong expertise in SQL, Python, Databricks, and automation technologies.
• Knowledge of data warehouse design methodologies (Kimball) and experience with Databricks and serverless SQL solutions.
• Proficiency in Oracle and SQL Server databases.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI.

Preferred:

• Experience with ERP systems like Oracle, Deltek, and Vista Viewpoint, as well as Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
• Familiarity with data governance, security practices, and architectural best practices.
• Certifications in Databricks, Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle/SQL Server databases, or related technologies.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-related challenges efficiently.

Work Environment & Expectations

• Office-based role with occasional travel as needed.
• Standard office setting with moderate noise levels.
• Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
