Job Description
Title : Software Engineer 3
Location : Austin, TX (Hybrid - On Site and Telework)
Type : 5 month contract
A Software Engineer 3 specializing in applications and software development is needed to design and implement software solutions. The selected candidate will analyze system requirements, study data usage, and optimize workflow processes to improve performance and scalability. Responsibilities include investigating problem areas, designing system specifications, and ensuring solutions meet business needs.
Your role :
Develop and optimize software solutions by analyzing information needs and system workflows.
Investigate performance and scalability bottlenecks across multiple tiers, particularly in data-intensive environments.
Simulate user / system traffic and analyze system behavior under varying loads.
Optimize code, queries, and configurations to enhance response time and resource efficiency.
Perform root cause analysis on system slowdowns and failures, proposing effective solutions.
Generate and interpret performance reports, including AWR, ASH, and ADDM.
Communicate technical findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
Predict future performance needs based on usage trends and growth projections.
What you've got :
8 years of experience in analyzing and evaluating application performance across multiple tiers.
8 years of experience identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues.
8 years of experience with Oracle wait interface and event analysis.
8 years of experience in performance tuning large Oracle databases in AWS (50 TB).
8 years of experience with large Oracle Exadata databases and clusters.
8 years of experience with single-node non-Exadata database tuning.
8 years of experience with Linux shell scripting, SQL tuning, and session tracing.
8 years of experience generating and analyzing AWR, ASH, and ADDM reports.
8 years of experience with Oracle AWR raw data analysis and interpretation.
8 years of experience with technical writing and diagramming, including proficiency with modeling tools (e.g., Visio, Erwin) and Microsoft Office Suite.
8 years of experience troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.
8 years of knowledge of Oracle internals related to database performance.
8 years of experience understanding application behavior, performance, and interaction with databases.
8 years of experience extrapolating application and data tier metrics to explain system behavior.
5 years of experience working on an agile sprint team.
5 years of experience using JIRA software.
4 years of experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.
2 years of experience handling personally identifiable information (PII) or protected health information (PHI).
2 years of experience working with HL7 data.
2 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
This role requires adherence to applicable regulations, including background checks.
