Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a highly motivated Controller to join our growing team. This individual will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting to management and investors, and maintaining the financial health of the organization. The Controller will collaborate with external accounting partners and internal teams to draft budgets aligned with company objectives, while also managing daily financial activities such as payroll, treasury management, bill payments, and receivables.
The ideal candidate has experience in startups, understands the unique challenges of building financial systems from scratch, and is adept at creating scalable processes. A background in technology or manufacturing industries is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management and investors. Review and oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other relevant standards.
- Work closely with internal teams to draft budgets that reflect their strategic and operational plans. Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial alignment.
- Act as the primary liaison with the accounting firm, ensuring all financial records are maintained, taxes are filed, and compliance requirements are met.
- Oversee payroll, wire transfers, bill payments, treasury management, and accounts receivable processes. Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely execution of these activities.
- Establish and refine financial processes and controls that support the organization’s growth, ensuring scalability and compliance.
- Monitor cash flow and ensure appropriate treasury management practices to support operational needs and long-term objectives.
- Provide clear financial updates and reports to management, investors, and other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial matters.
- Identify potential financial risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior financial role, ideally within startups or rapidly growing manufacturing organizations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and familiarity with financial systems, budgeting tools, and software.
- Experience implementing or working with scalable financial processes.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and clearly convey financial insights.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with financial management in technology or manufacturing industries.
- Demonstrated success in building financial processes from the ground up.
