Location: GE Transportation (Wabtec) ; Erie, PA

Job Description:

The Locomotive Project Engineer is responsible for the technical/engineering of the assigned projects in terms of scope, timely delivery, quality, and compliance. The Engineer will interface with respective customer departments and local suppliers to execute assigned projects. The candidate should have a solid engineering background and proven experience with leading various manufacturing and assembly projects. Additional design experience with GE Locomotives a plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Responsibilities to include development of concept design, detailed design, and design analysis for Locomotive Systems.

- Ownership of stated technical/cost/reliability/performance requirements of the design or process.

- Interactions will include engineering sub-system teams, drafting and global engineering sites.

- Manage long term planning to meet the project milestone fulfillments.

- Review and approve designs and 2-D drawings developed by designers.

- Participate as presenter in Tollgate 500 level technical design reviews.

- Supports the advanced design and development of mechanical components.

- Drive cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including but not limited to, design reviews, material orders, prototype builds, field and bench testing. Etc.

Desired Skills:

- Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

- Experience with GD&T, general mfg processes, tooling and Lean Six Sigma.

- Knowledge of mechanical design and advanced manufacturing processes.

- Knowledge of ANSYS/COSMOS and/or other commercially available FEA programs as well as 3D modeling (UG or Solid Works), a plus.

- Knowledge of Reliability data analysis through statistical modeling.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
