SUMMARY :
The Material Handler III receives, loads, moves, delivers, and disposes of equipment, furniture, and other property and materials as assigned. Maintains inventory control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Receives, stores, issues and delivers equipment, material and supplies
- Processes and inspects incoming and outgoing shipments of materials, equipment and supplies for quantity and condition of items; verifies orders against packing slips and purchase orders; inputs items received into computer system; barcodes specified fixed assets; communicates status of orders with end-users and vendors. Processes returned goods.
- Answers inquiries about merchandise, purchase orders, requisitions, and related topics for vendors and District staff. Maintain appropriate customer relations with all vendors, delivery drivers and school personnel.
- Drives a truck, unloads and delivers materials, equipment and supplies to Phoenix Union campuses. Verifies, records and transports property and equipment for disposal, e.g. surplus, salvage and auction.
- Completes picking and packing requisitions; pulls, packs, and checks warehouse requisitions for high schools and facilities.
- Completes inventory records. Assists in conducting end-of-year inventory of warehouse stock.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area and warehouse.
- Operates a forklift, pallet jack, and dolly and drives a truck to move / deliver materials and supplies.
- Controls, reviews, and accounts for all receiving tickets, documents, vendor shipping lists and / or freight loading bills.
- Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Governing Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines :
High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND two years of experience working in a warehouse and operating warehouse equipment; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
License and Certification Requirements :
Must possess a valid Arizona State Commercial Driver's License.
Must be a Certified Forklift Operator.
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ABILITIES
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a warehouse environment and required exposure to hot and cold temperatures and potentially dangerous machinery and equipment. May be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and operate machinery. Ability to stand, walk,
turn, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, push and pull.
