This key leadership position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is instrumental in managing the company's accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, strong analytical abilities, and an in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulations.

- Led and oversaw all accounting functions, including general ledger, fixed assets, retail accounting, and tax compliance.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements, such as balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements.
- Handle the monthly filing of sales tax and escheat returns.
- Support year-end audits and any regulatory audits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Conduct ongoing financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant tax regulations.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team.
- Provide financial insights and support to other departments as required.
- Assist with the implementation of systems related to accounting functions.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations.
