A Marketing Intern is needed to further Knowledge Enterprise Strategic Marketing and Communications efforts at Arizona State University's Biodesign Institute. This full-time, benefits-eligible position is part of a full-service, in-house marketing agency. The role performs a variety of duties to assist with providing strategic marketing support such as website, digital and print. This team member will interview students, staff and scientists and conduct some online research. In addition to writing and interviewing skills, the intern should also be highly collaborative and personable, enabling successful teamwork with marketing colleagues and Biodesign executives, faculty, staff and students. Works closely with Marketing and Communications leadership. Two self-generated writing samples, cover letter and resume are required in order to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Content development for both public and internal websites, including updating text, writing stories, identifying problems and facilitating orchestrated improvements.
- Write content for brochures, digital signage, banners and more.
- Manage content for production of monthly newsletters.
- Oversee and proofread recognition output for consistency.
- Build content library for Biodesign.
- Elevate signature Biodesign events through a variety of promotional strategies.
- Develop a subscriber outreach program.
- Coordination of client and community requests.
- Administer assimilation of survey data from faculty and other audiences.
- Contribute to project management tracking software.
- Build relationships with Marketing, Knowledge Enterprise, Biodesign Institute and others at ASU to extend local, national and global reach of the Biodesign brand.
Desired Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, communications or related field OR any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Working Environment
Activities are performed remotely or in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%) with the main work location to be at the Biodesign Institute. Serve as a valued contributor to a small satellite team at the Biodesign Institute, with opportunities to interface with our larger marketing team. Interact with other departments.
