Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team and drive the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Kubernetes (EKS), Istio, security policies, network policies, and Karpenter to enhance scalability, security, and performance.
What will you do?
- Design, implement, and manage AWS EKS clusters, ensuring high availability and security.
- Develop and enforce network policies and security policies to enhance cluster security and compliance.
- Optimize Kubernetes workloads using Karpenter for efficient autoscaling and cost management.
- Implement Istio for service mesh management, traffic routing, observability, and security.
- Automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management using IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes best practices.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud performance, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Stay updated with the latest cloud security practices and implement compliance and governance controls.
What are we looking for?
- 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure management, and Kubernetes administration.
- Expertise in AWS EKS, Kubernetes networking, and cluster security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with network policies (Calico, Cilium, or similar) and security policies (OPA, Kyverno, or PodSecurityPolicies).
- Strong knowledge of Karpenter for Kubernetes workload autoscaling.
- Experience with Istio for service mesh implementation and security.
- Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog), and cloud security principles.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience with RBAC, IAM, and cloud security best practices
