Summary:
Daily management of test schedules, personnel and activities as required to ensure on time delivery and high-quality standards throughout all testing stages. This position requires a resourceful, highly logical, objectively analytical, and confident leader that is an effective communicator and drives processes with extraordinary attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties should be anticipated.
Ensures daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules are met.
Properly tracks and conducts root cause analysis on production related issues.
Test, troubleshoot, and build/repair production and prototype of TWT and/or Power Supply equipment.
Ability to use common testing equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, Multi-meters, Power Supplies, Waveform Generators, etc.
Test specifications, schematics and instructions.
Product troubleshooting and defect analysis down to component level.
Performs test programs; inspect and characterize products.
Drives high safety standards.
Good command of high voltage electrical apparatus.
Works closely with engineering to support the building of new products.
Champions continuous improvement of areas, processes, and procedures.
Ensures equipment maintenance schedules are properly maintained and executed.
Ensures high standards of quality control.
Meets daily with production team.
Provides mentorship, training and takes adequate disciplinary action as required.
Properly schedules, tracks, and approves worked hours and time-off.
Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Promote and encourage understanding of the ISO 9001 based Quality Management System.
Education/Experience/Qualification:
Two-year degree or certificate from a post-secondary technical school or college, with 5 years of electronics manufacturing and testing supervisory experience.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including blueprints and schematics.
Strong understanding of technical manufacturing processes and direction.
Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment.
Implementation of Lean manufacturing concepts.

Supervises approximately 6 team members, including assemblers and testers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in a high-tech manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise levels. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; works in high or precarious places with fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals; and is exposed to extreme heat conditions (non-weather). Some areas carry limited risk of electrical shock.
Various PPE devices & equipment such as gloves, respirators, dust masks, and safety glasses may be required. Up to one half of the employee’s time may be spent in a clean room environment requiring a clean room suit, gloves, and mask.
