Seeking a Insurance Verification / Medical Records Clerk for a surgery center in Encino, CA. This is a 3-month opportunity, temporary special project assignment.
Insurance Verification / Medical Records Clerk Role Job Details:
- Job Title: Insurance Verification / Medical Records Clerk
- Hourly Pay: $23.00/hr. (depending on experience)
- Job Type: Special Project | 3-month contract
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00PM
- Benefits: Upon eligibility if hired long-term.
Insurance Verification / Medical Records Clerk Role Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage EHR tasks (prep, scanning, importing, indexing, FTP, bookmarking, e-faxing)
- Oversee EHR document QA audits and resolve issues
- Handle incoming/outgoing mail processes
- Verify high-volume insurances
- Operate fax, copier, scanner, and computer equipment
- Use health data software for record processing and tracking
- Support HIM calls, copy services, walk-ins, portal access, and info requests
- Create electronic files for audits/releases; collect, track, and fax PHI
- Contribute to medical record purging
- Maintain EMR systems per regulatory standards
- Meet productivity goals and perform additional tasks as assigned
Insurance Verification / Medical Records Clerk Role Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- EMR experience
- Data Entry 10-key by touch and typing speed of 35 wpm (required)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
