ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you ready to conquer the ins and outs of retail inventory management and be part of an exciting and fast-growing retail concept in the Palm Springs design district? While this position will start as part-time/seasonal, there is opportunity for it to grow into a full-time and year-round role.
Your responsibilities as Stock Associate include and are not limited to:
- Assisting the Head Merchant and Head of Operations in day-to-day store tasks
- Receiving and processing inventory, including product unboxing and recycling of shipment packaging
- Managing packing slips and invoices for inventory accuracy
- Creating price tags and signs
- Organizing all storage areas
- Creating purchase orders for review by the Head Merchant
- Running sales reports and identifying sales trends to inform smarter ordering
- Packing orders for shipment
- Assisting with floor moves of product and furniture within the store
- Driving to and from Los Angeles and surrounding areas for product pick-ups, client deliveries, etc.
- Maintaining store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, trash/recycling, etc.
- Occasionally working on the sales floor, engaging with customers, cashiering, gift wrapping, etc.
Additional Details:
- This position requires moderate-to-heavy physical labor, including but not limited to lifting boxes over 30 lbs, moving furniture, climbing tall ladders, driving long distances ( 100 miles) for customer deliveries and product pick-ups, etc.
- Scheduled hours may vary depending on staffing levels/PTO, store traffic, and peak holidays, but a typical day would be 9:30AM - 4:00PM, 4-5 days per week (including weekends). This position will be 30-35 hours a week to start, with potential for more at certain times.
- You must have a high-degree of digital comfort and ability to learn new skills such as online inventory management, website maintenance, Google suite, etc.
- This role reports into the Head Merchant.
The ideal candidate has:
- Previous experience in retail or stocking roles (preferred but not required)
- A perfectionist sense of order and organization - you had the cleanest room as a kid (and now an adult) and can’t help but straighten things when you’re at a friend’s house. You fanatically care about the details of how things are packaged and presented.
- A desire to learn and grow - you embrace doing whatever task is thrown at you with great flexibility, but also want to learn bigger skills that will grow your career. You bring a positive attitude and passionate work ethic to everything you do.
- An innate passion for design and aesthetics - you love the backstory of how beautiful things are made, geeking out over modern interiors, learning the history of modernist architecture, and being surrounded by great design in Palm Springs.
