What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant/Receptionist position at Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation?
Multidisciplinary practice seeking an outgoing, patient-focused Administrative Assistant with at least 2 years experience in a medical office. Must demonstrate a positive and professional demeanor when dealing with patients, be well organized, able to multi-task, work independently & as a team member, possess excellent communication skills.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets and directs all patients within the practice
Obtaining patient demographics and verifying insurance information at each visit
Obtain authorizations and initiate appeals for denied authorizations/requests
Communicate with patients regarding all issues
Communicate with MEDICAL DOCTOR regarding all patient issues (clinical/administrative)
Communicate with patients and ALL healthcare providers regarding all scheduling for pain management, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture and chiro
Responsible to scan insurance cards, picture ID, etc., into the patient’s EMR
Responsible to handle confidential information and patient medical record information
Answer phone calls, check fax machine throughout the day and distribute all incoming faxes to appropriate staff member. Fax patient information, as directed
Offer assistance to the patient, staff and provider, as needed
Obtain patient checks and ask patients for checks when they come to the office
Communicate with billing regarding patients check receipt
Maintain cleanliness of waiting room & assist in ordering, receiving and stocking supplies
Maintain HIPAA at all times
Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
