What are the responsibilities and job description for the Injury Prevention Specialist position at Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers?
The Injury Prevention Specialist works closely with companies in the industrial sector to ensure employee health and safety.
This part-time position is open to candidates with the ability to work autonomously to provide ergonomic and on-site services for our clients. This position will be based in Putnam, Connecticut.
Qualified candidates include Certified Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or equivalent.
The right candidate for this job is a dedicated clinician who is passionate about helping others move and feel better, driven to continue to develop their clinical skills and looking for a supportive, team oriented work environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide job-site analysis to identify potential injury risks and collaborate with client management in addressing these factors through awareness, education, and intervention.
- Understand workplace operations, functions and mechanics involved to make recommendations for risk reduction, job placement for employees with restrictions and coaching for improvement of risky habits.
- Perform biomechanical and ergonomic evaluations including human performance assessment, workstation assessments, and implementation of preventive programs.
- Maintain high standards of care while providing injury prevention services for client companies as it relates to first aide and treatment of workplace injuries.
- Follow OSHA standards of care and documentation of first aide care provided to workplace employees.
- Communicate effectively with employers, physicians, and other relevant healthcare providers.
- Motivate clients during treatment in order to help them function optimally and achieve their goals.
