Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding an Anesthesiologist to the group at NYC Health Hospitals / Harlem. NYC Health Hospitals / Harlem is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually.

Harlem's Department of Anesthesia Details :
- Determines and prescribes kinds of anesthetics and procedures to be employed in various categories of cases - besides the bread and butter we also serve light pediatrics, obstetric, neuro, orthopedics and plastics.
- Advises Anesthetists and Surgeons in cases where age or condition of patient presents unusual or complex problems.
- Recommends suitable anesthesia, advises on dosages and consults on post-operative complications.
- Reviews case histories and is responsible for all matters pertaining to Anesthesiology.
- Lectures to and trains Anesthetists, Residents and auxiliary staff -Daily work includes working with CRNAs, medical students and residents.
- Work with residents from Metropolitan Hospital and osteopathic students from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine.
- Underserved area.

- Occasional pediatric cases, over 2 years old.
- Colleagues with fellowships in OB anesthesia, Peds anesthesia, Pain Management, Critical Care, Cardiothoracic anesthesia.
- About 300-360 OR Cases per month, less than 100 deliveries per month (labor epidural rate ~80%).
- Off-sites areas include MRI, IR, endoscopy / bronchoscopy suite.
- Endo suite in the same area as the main ORs (currently 6 main ORs).
- No office anesthesia, no freestanding outpatient facility .
- Three Biomedical equipment techs dedicated to the Department.
- Some cases are solo without a CRNA or Resident.
- CRNA ratio - 1 : 2, all CRNAs work under supervision.

Wages and Benefits include :
Annual Base Salary : $409,000
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $616,350
Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
