Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding one Medical Physicist to the Radiation/Oncology group at NYC Health Hospitals/Kings County. The Hospital is part of NYC Health Hospitals. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.

- Collaborate with the chairman/physicians of the department on all aspects of running the service.
- Perform annual physics program Audits in collaboration with chief therapist and chief of service
- Calibrate and maintain patient management equipment in accordance with applicable regulations and protocols.
- Perform all necessary acceptance testing and commissioning for all new patient management equipment.
- Assure compliance with all radiation safety and protection regulations and requirements.
- Actively participate in CQI/PI programs and activities/ACRO accreditation
- Check patient charts to assure the prescribed delivery of radiation.
- Teach resident physicians radiation therapy physics, and equipment operation and safety.
- Provide technical input in design and construction of patient management rooms, and installation activities.
- Assure the appropriate management of brachytherapy patients and radioactive sources.
- Serve as consultant to hospital administration and other Departments.
Salary : $245,000
