Position: Communications Team Member / Dispatcher
Location: 6670 W Snowville Rd, Ste 2, Brecksville, OH 44141
Expected Hours: 36–44 per week
Communications Team Members and Dispatchers are essential to our operations, serving as the critical link between our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel and the communities we serve. They coordinate Skilled Patient Transport and emergency responses across a 20-county service area in Ohio. While EMD certification (Emergency Medical Dispatcher) or experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is recommended, it is not required. What is essential is a strong understanding of healthcare, medical transport logistics, and the geography of Central and Northern Ohio.
We are seeking candidates who are exceptional communicators, able to remain calm under pressure, and thrive in high-stress situations. The ability to multitask and take decisive action with minimal supervision is critical to this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle emergency and non-emergency calls, documenting significant information accurately.
- Address issues and requests by relaying information or providing effective solutions.
- Receive and dispatch orders with appropriate prioritization based on urgency and importance.
- Monitor the status and routes of field units to ensure efficient coordination.
- Provide field units with critical updates regarding transports, traffic conditions, and challenges.
- Operate a multi-function telephone and radio console with visual and auditory acuity.
- Utilize a sophisticated computerized network for monitoring and status retrieval.
- Maintain organization and clarity while managing multiple concurrent tasks or events.
- Apply critical thinking to analyze, prioritize, and re-evaluate situations based on new information.
- Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a related role.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and other relevant technologies.
- Fast and accurate typing skills with a strong background in data entry.
- Familiarity with emergency procedures and guidelines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and active listening skills.
- Sound judgment and critical thinking abilities.
- EMD certification or experience as an EMT.
- Knowledge of Central and Northern Ohio geography.
- 12-hour shifts
- Night shifts and overnight shifts (required)
- Holidays, weekends, and on-call availability
- Opportunities for overtime
