About the Role
Position Title: Video Producer or Manager
Position Objective:
This role involves creating engaging video content, including social media clips, documentaries, and promotional materials, to deliver the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's message of improving human and animal lives through plant-based diets and ethical scientific research to new audiences in innovative and compelling ways. The position includes overseeing the production process, managing collaborations, and optimizing video content across platforms to enhance audience engagement and strengthen the organization's brand. Each video project will promote and drive viewer engagement online and enhance the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's brand and visibility.
About the Communications Team: The Physicians Committee's communications team works to maximize publicity for our campaigns, programs, and research studies through traditional and social media. The team oversees all media relations, social media, videos, advertising, digital marketing, and website management for the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Brainstorm, write, and produce videos - long and short form, timely and evergreen - for social media, advertisements, and web, and help the organization produce more ambitious, long-form video projects (documentaries and short films).
- Record and edit a variety of videos remotely and on-site for programs, promos, media coverage, social media, and our website.
- Work with internal team members and external consultants to oversee all video operations and collaborations and review final deliverables to ensure content is in line with our branding and messaging.
- Build, manage, and improve the current video operation, including studio space, lighting, equipment, and video library while staying current on video industry standards.
- Work with the organization's other departments and team members to develop, improve, and produce their video needs as they arise.
- Upload and publish video content to appropriate channels with titles and descriptions. Assist in properly storing, indexing, and cataloging video content.
- Where applicable, serve as the primary point of contact for external production companies.
- Hire and coordinate with consultants as needed (animators, sound editors, production companies) for PSAs and films.
- Schedule, maintain, and meet filming dates, project deadlines, and release dates.
- Upload and publish video content to all appropriate channels with titles and descriptions, optimized for SEO and high visibility.
- Properly store and catalog all video and audio components.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None to start though there is an option to supervise in the future.
Required Physical Abilities: Office work plus the ability to travel and lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Location: This is a full-time position that may be performed remotely from any location in the United States. Candidates in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area are preferred.
Required Travel: Approximately quarterly for production shoots for events and interviews.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time exempt position (40 hours per week). The Physicians Committee's core business hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, ET.
Position Level: The position level for this role is flexible and may be Coordinator (average of 11 years of relevant work experience) or Specialist/Manager level (average of 15 years of relevant work experience).
Salary: A salary offer will take into consideration education, experience, and skills along with internal and external reference points. Candidates are encouraged to discuss salary with a position's hiring manager early in the interview process to ensure alignment.
