We are looking for an exceptional Director of Nursing to join our practice!
Physicians East, PA is a multi-specialty, multi-campus group based out of Greenville, NC offering a wide range of specialties. In addition to primary care the practice offers pulmonary and critical care medicine, rheumatology, dermatology, oncology, endocrinology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, gastroenterology, surgery, urology, and urgent care. Our 102 providers and over 600 employees provide services for thousands of patients in a 29-county region. Our specialists are on staff at ECU Health, a 900 bed, level one trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine (ECU-BSOM).

Location & commitments
Full-time role based at our main Arlington campus, Monday-Friday, 8a.m. – 5 p.m. Travel to other locations as needed.
Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care of, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.
Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary
Supervision Received : Reports to the Chief Operations Officer.
Supervision Exercised : Nursing Staff.
Typical Physical Demands : Requires standing and / or sitting for long periods of time while working in a clinical or office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work under stress and use of telephone required. Manual dexterity is required for the use of various office machines.

About the role
A Director of Nursing, or Nursing Director, oversees the nursing staff and overall nursing operations of the healthcare facility. Duties include establishing goals for the nursing department and creating and enforcing compliant healthcare policies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to deliver high-quality patient care. They will have the ability to monitor the pulse of the nursing staff to improve workflows while improving patient care, maximize efficiencies, reduce turnover. They will also have a strong understanding of regulatory policies and procedures and be able to ensure compliance throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) strongly preferred.
- Licensure : Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Significant experience (5-10 years) in a private practice setting, with distinguishable prior leadership roles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, effective leadership capability, ability to apply problem solving skills and methodology to handle complex challenges, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Deep understanding of nursing practice standards, healthcare regulations, quality improvement methodologies, and patient care principles.
- Knowledge of, and ability to operate computer hardware and software
Responsibilities
Hire, orient, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing staff across all levels, including nurse managers, to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
Develop and manage the nursing department budget, including staffing costs, supplies, and equipment.
Recommend, implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of patient care, including data analysis and performance metrics.
Develop, implement, and enforce nursing policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Maintain adherence to all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations.
Review patient care plans, monitor patient progress, and address any concerns regarding quality of care.
Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, administrators, managers, and ancillary departments, to coordinate patient care and practice improvement projects.
