We are looking for an exceptional Support Technician to join our practice!

Physicians East, PA is a multi-specialty, multi-campus group based out of Greenville, NC offering a wide range of specialties. In addition to primary care the practice offers pulmonary and critical care medicine, rheumatology, dermatology, oncology, endocrinology, cardiology, obstetrics and gynecology, gastroenterology, surgery, urology, and urgent care. Our 102 providers and over 600 employees provide services for thousands of patients in a 29-county region. Our specialists are on staff at ECU Health, a 900 bed, level one trauma center and the primary teaching hospital for the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine (ECU-BSOM).

Location & commitments

FT / PT / Temp / PRN role based at our Greenville location, Monday-Friday, 8a.m. – 5 p.m. Early, late and on call hours may be required.

Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner.

Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary.

Supervision Received : Reports to Information Systems Manager

Supervision Exercised : None.

Typical Physical Demands :

Requires sitting for long periods of time. Working in office environment. Some bending and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard. Use of tools required.

Typical Working Conditions :

Work is performed in an office environment. Involves contact with staff.

About the role :

Responsible for performing the tasks and duties outlined below under the guidance and direction of the Information Systems Manager. This position will be required to follow policies and procedures set forth by Physicians East, P.A. To abide by the policies and regulations set forth by the Health Information Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA), HCFA, and any other state and federal regulatory requirements necessary to perform the functions and technical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities :

Technical Support Specialist :

Performs the duties of a Technical Support Specialist for Physicians East, PA including providing hardware and software technical support for all entities within Physicians East, PA

Assist the Technical Support Specialist Team Lead and / or Information Systems Manager in performing technical duties within Information Services

Troubleshoot and resolve technical system / equipment issues and / or make recommendations for resolutions

Completes “Request for Service” work orders to meet the needs of Physicians East, PA

Works as a technical team member for Information Services to provide technical support and resolve technical issues / problems.

Will set up and maintain email accounts.

Is responsible for the installation / support and maintenance of hardware for all entities within Physicians East, PA including :

PC installation / upgrades

Hardware maintenance and support (cleaning, repairs, replacements) for the following :

Desktops

Laptops

Printers

Hardware Inventory :

Is responsible for maintaining the appropriate hardware equipment required including replacing equipment and purchasing new equipment

Obtains quotes according to PE Policies and Procedures for ordering technical equipment for Information Systems.

Orders technical equipment for Information Systems to be disseminated out to other PE departments and locations.

Maintains an inventory of all Physicians East hardware equipment

User Support :

Is responsible for providing quality services to all users as a Technical Support Specialist

Performs Help Desk functions including :

Logging in work orders

Updating work order statuses

Assist the IS Manager and Team Lead in prioritizing and disseminating work order tasks

Other Related Duties as Assigned

Candidate requirements :

Associate Degree in Computer Science or a related curriculum plus a minimum of two years of experience in Computer Technology; or a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related curriculum with a minimum of one year of experience in Computer Technology; or a combination of three years of education and experience in Computer Technology.
