Contract Phlebotomist (2 Month Contract)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Contract Phlebotomist to provide temporary coverage and phlebotomy support for one of our valued clients in the Lafayette, LA area. This short-term role is essential to maintaining exceptional patient care and ensuring timely specimen collection and handling on-site at the client facility.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and swab collections efficiently and safely from patients of all ages.

Verify patient identification and ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation.

Maintain proper specimen handling, storage, and transportation protocols.

Communicate professionally with the client’s staff, patients, and internal laboratory personnel.

Uphold infection control and safety procedures at all times.

Prepare specimens for courier pick-up and maintain chain of custody where required.

Assist with supply stocking and cleanliness of the phlebotomy area at the client site.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.

Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred, ideally in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting.

CPR certification a plus.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally in the Lafayette area.

Contract Duration: June 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday; some flexibility may be required

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate; mileage reimbursement provided when applicable
