Job Summary:
Coastal Health is currently seeking a motivated, career-oriented Back and Front Office Clinical Medical Assistant Trainer to join our team. This position plays a key role in training and assisting staff across multiple locations, focusing on all back-office duties and the effective use of various information systems.
As a Back Office Clinical Medical Assistant Trainer, you will be responsible for providing training and support to staff on multiple systems, ensuring that clinical workflows run smoothly, and empowering our medical assistants with the skills they need to excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive training on information systems including Windows operating systems, Citrix virtual applications, Microsoft Office, eClinical Works Athena.
- Conduct one-on-one training sessions with Medical Assistant (MA) staff, covering tasks such as taking vitals, confirming the purpose of visits or treatments, preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic lab tests, and administering drug screens.
- Identify inefficiencies in clinic workflows and work collaboratively to develop solutions using EHR and PM applications.
- Train in various locations, focusing on one location at a time until the back-office staff becomes proficient in using systems and processes.
- Create and distribute training materials and instructions to ensure consistent practices among all back-office staff.
- Assist patients with converting their paper records to electronic formats, streamlining the process for better patient care and management.
- Continuously evaluate the efficacy of the training curriculum and ensure compliance with standard protocols.
- Provide ongoing support and feedback to the team to enhance overall performance and quality of care.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical Medical Assistant role.
- Proficient in multi-tasking, flexibility, time management, organization, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, including telephone skills and customer service expertise.
- Professional demeanor and a team-driven attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong proficiency in scheduling, word processing, and office administration.
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems is preferred.
- Previous experience in primary care settings is a plus.
