What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Service Representative position at Physicians' Medical Center, P.C.?
The Patient Services Representative greets and registers patients. This position also updates insurance information and addresses, schedules appointments, and collects patient payments. · Maintain Patient confidentiality at all times. Bilingual preferred, but not required.
Some additional duties include, but are not limited to:
· Communicate accurate and pertinent information with patient care providers and other members of the care delivery team to facilitate effective and efficient patient care.
· Greet all patients.
· Register new patients into the computer.
· Make new charts when needed.
· Update established accounts and information on the computer when it has changed.
· Prepare charge tickets and charts for next day’s appointments.
· Answer phones, address patient requests, take messages, and transfer calls appropriately.
· Send for patient records and prepare other correspondence for mailing.
· Schedule appointments accurately according to established computer templates and meeting patient needs.
· Share information appropriately and in a timely manner.
· Participate in activities that identify opportunities for improvement and communicate these opportunities to the Manager.
