What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manual Tester position at Physicians Mutual?
Physicians Mutual is looking for a Senior Manual Tester to join our growing Enterprise Technology Group! In this role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software systems that support key business functions. Working closely with developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders, you’ll design, execute, and improve testing processes—all within an Agile environment focused on continuous improvement and customer impact.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive test strategies and test plans for enterprise-level systems
- Write and execute manual test cases, scripts, and procedures
- Identify, document, and track defects and work with teams to resolve them
- Perform functional, regression, smoke, and API testing
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across departments
- Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance systems and help improve business processes
- Mentor and coach team members, promoting best practices in testing
Requirements:
- 3–4 years of hands-on manual software testing experience
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum, Kanban) environments
- Familiarity with policy administration systems or insurance systems
- Proficient with test management tools and API testing (SoapUI) and SQL
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- ISTQB or similar quality assurance certification a plus
